Question of the week

There is a hangman who stands on a hill along a road to town. Every person who passes is asked the same question: "Where are you going?" If the passer-by answers honestly, he or she is allowed to continue. If he tells a lie, he is hanged. There is, however, one reply for witch the hangman can neither hang the person nor let him go. November 4, 2004-> Arafat in Coma


GAZA (Reuters) - The heads of all Palestinian security services were summoned to an emergency meeting on Thursday after President Yasser Arafat (news - web sites) fell into a coma and was reported in critical condition, security sources said.

The meeting was to be held in the evening at Arafat's headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah, they told Reuters.

Arafat, 75, was lying unconscious at a military hospital in France, where he was airlifted last week after becoming seriously ill.

The meeting was called by Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qurie, who has temporarily assumed Arafat's duties as head of the Palestinian Authority.

Mahmoud Abbas, a former prime minister who has taken provisional charge of Arafat's Palestine Liberation Organization, planned to attend the meeting, the sources said.
